MGT Acquires Public Resource Management Group

Provides PRM with resources to dramatically expand services

Sacramento, Calif.—MGT of America Inc., a national management consulting and research firm, has purchased Public Resource Management Group (PRM), a fast- growing provider of cost allocation plans, indirect cost rate studies and user fee studies in the United States. On August 1, the companies joined together in an effort to better serve their clients and meet growing market demand.

PRM Managing Partner Brad Wilkes said that he, Brad Burgess and Eric Parish started PRM in order to provide exceptional consulting services to local government clients without the pressures and constraints of satisfying Wall Street analysts. "In MGT of America, we have found a kindred firm that shares our values of impeccable service and strong technical expertise, as well as our desire to establish long-term relationships with clients,” said Wilkes. “Joining forces with MGT will provide us with more resources to serve our clients and additional opportunities to expand our core areas of expertise across the nation."

State and local governments use cost allocation plans and indirect cost rate studies to verify that they are distributing program costs in an accurate and appropriate manner. User fee studies help ensure that the fees charged for certain services are based upon the actual cost of those services. Many government agencies engage consultants with the expertise to fully calculate all costs associated with their programs.

MGT CEO Fred Forrer has positioned the firm to consolidate its role as the leading provider of consulting services to state and local governments. “MGT has made a strategic decision to expand its suite of services,” said Forrer. “PRM has a reputation for providing the highest quality cost allocation and cost of service studies, making it a perfect fit for our plans for expansion.”

MGT provides consulting services in K-12 education, public safety and criminal justice, higher education and state and local government. For more than 32 years, the firm has made it its mission to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of governments and nonprofit organizations throughout the United States. MGT has assisted government agencies in all 50 states and encompassing virtually every type of function and service.
