Ken has been involved in virtually every aspect of correctional management and operations over the course of his outstanding 30-year public service career. He has served as the Director of the Michigan Department of Corrections and as the Director of the Illinois Department of Corrections. Ken also has worked as a warden in maximum, medium and minimum-security institutions and received a number of national awards for his contributions to the field of corrections.
Ken has administered and directed adult and juvenile correctional systems, administered state-wide parole supervision functions and parole board operations, and administered state-wide probation services, as well as the related community diversion and alternative programs.
During his career, Ken has conducted operational reviews of correctional systems and facilities across the country. He is a recognized expert in security and management issues, and has directed operational assessments for the Colorado, Kentucky, Louisiana, District of Columbia, Texas, Massachusetts, Arizona, Virginia, North Dakota, Indiana, and Mississippi correctional systems.
In addition, Ken has directed a comprehensive review of the effectiveness of programs administered by the North Dakota, Vermont and Puerto Rico correctional systems. He also assisted several local correctional systems including those in Cook County, Illinois; Dorchester County, South Carolina; Dallas County, Texas; and the District of Columbia Department of Corrections.
